Health & Safety Manager - Oxford, United Kingdom - Cranleigh Scientific
Description
You will work closely with the board of Directors and all members of staff based in the offices, laboratories, and workshops, to put in place the right measures to prevent accidents and ill health, as well as ensuring legal compliance.
The business has two sites in Oxford.Health & Safety Manager Responsibilities and Duties:
- To provide Health & Safety expertise to develop, influence, and promote a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the business
- Maintaining and promoting high standards in Health and Safety, in a fastchanging business environment
- Providing positive leadership and promoting a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the workforce
- Working with technicians and engineers to understand complex processes and implement the right safety measures
- Carrying out accidents and nearmiss investigations and implementing resulting actions to improve current working practices/guidelines.
- Performing the regular review and update of company risk assessments, procedures, and policy.
- Organising training for staff, either internally or through external providers
- Organising internal and external audits to monitor compliance
Health & Safety Manager Experience and Qualifications required:
- NEBOSH General (minimum)
- A solid understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Experience within the Manufacturing (desirable)
- A hunger and passion to drive a positive Health & Safety culture
- Desire to make people's time at work as safe and enjoyable as possible
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills: you are also resultsoriented and tenacious
- Full UK Driving License
