Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oneonone support to students with behaviour issues, helping them to understand the root causes of their problems and develop strategies to improve their behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement behaviour management plans and interventions
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular reports to teachers and parents
  • Collaborate with other members of the school community, including counselors, social workers, and other support staff, to provide comprehensive support to students
  • Provide guidance and support to students as they work through difficult situations and challenges, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience
  • Act as a role model for positive behaviour, setting an example for students to follow

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a teaching assistant or similar role
  • Experience working with students with behaviour issues, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Patience, compassion, and understanding, with the ability to remain calm and supportive in difficult situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • A valid teaching assistant certification or equivalent
