Start People are recruiting for our client who are based in Bishop Auckland for a machine operator.
Working Monday to Friday on a 3 shift rotation of 7am - 3pm / 3pm - 11pm / 11pm - 7am 40 hours a week.
Scope of Job_
- Report to Shift Leader.
- Responsible for running 2 conventional furnaces.
- Responsible for running the grinding system.
- Responsible for grains and furnace quality.
- Carrying out preuse checks on equipment and machinery.
- Maintaining good housekeeping on site.
- Problem solving and dealing with issues on daytoday basis.
- Must be able to deal with pressure and demands of the role.
Key Tasks_
- Completing Furnace reports on a daily basis.
- Hands on running of our furnace plant, ensuring all Quality and Safety procedures are adhered to.
- Continuous focus on furnace efficiency and quality.
- Completing Glass gradation checks and interpreting information.
- Carrying out rotex maintenance.
- Complete regular handovers with other Furnace Operators.
- Complete frequent equipment and machinery preuse or routine checks.
- Flexible and willing to work in _
all roles_ on site. - Willing and able to cover the Shift Leader during absence.
Skill Requirements_
- Must hold current counterbalance forklift licence.
- Experience of operating a front loading shovel Preferred but not essential.
- Preferred 3 years' experience running a batch processing plant or similar environment.
- Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computing skills including proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Outlook, excel,
- Good problem solving skills.

Salary:
£12.00-£13.20 per hour

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

- FLT driving: 1 year (preferred)

- FLT Counterbalance license (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
