The Accounting Policy & Reporting Strategy team is responsible for- developing and maintaining the Group's accounting policy manual and technical accounting documents, and ensure these are implemented appropriately by the Group Financial Control team- partnering with the business to provide advice on the correct IFRS accounting treatment for a wide range of transactions- managing the production of the Intermediate Capital Group PLC Annual Report- supporting corporate reporting initiatives, including providing regular updates on changes to financial reporting requirements and other matters of relevance.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that all transactions are correctly accounted for in accordance with accounting standards and group accounting policies and that the approach taken with respect to non-routine, complex or judgemental matters is appropriately documented.

This also includes maintenance, update and development of group accounting and reporting policies.

You will partner with all ICG business units to provide advice on the correct IFRS accounting treatment for a wide range of complex and unique transactions and across various projects.


As reporting requirements change this role will work with impacted functions across the Group to define new requirements and development and implement appropriate reporting processes and controls, and supporting any associated assurance.

Primary Responsibilities

This position is responsible for several critical functions, in additional to supporting the Head of Accounting Policy & Reporting Strategy with ad hoc tasks:

  • Monitoring business developments to ensure timely review of transactions
  • Maintain the Accounting Policy Manual, identifying and implementing enhancements
  • Support the delivery of timely and accurate statutory reporting for the Group and subsidiary entities by working with the Group Financial Control team and the auditors.
  • Working with representatives from across the business support the timely production of the Annual Report
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements/ Qualifications

You will have demonstrable experience of:

  • 5+ years PQE in either/and: Accounting Policy and/or Audit and Internal Control.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • ACA or equivalent
  • Past Organisations:
Publicly listed organisations, Asset Managers, PE & Venture Capital, Other Financial Services and / or Tier I Consulting/Professional Services firms
