A well-known Japanese transport company is looking for an Import Clerk to join their office near Heathrow Airport.


WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:30 from Monday to Friday (some flexibility is required)


SALARY:
up to £35K depending on experience


LOCATION:
west London


RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Organising the day to day running of the Import department
  • The completion and submission of import declarations to HM Revenue and Customs
  • Obtaining information from clients and ensuring that declarations are made to customs in accordance with HMRC and AEO regulations
  • Recordkeeping, reporting and auditing to ensure compliance
  • Reporting to management in respect of discrepancies, errors or omissions
  • Liaising with clients, other departments and overseas offices to ensure the smooth flow of consignments to their destination
  • Arranging collections from the airline to the customers, quoting overseas offices and customers
  • This position covers Air, sea and road imports

IDEAL CANDIDATE:


  • Experience working within the import/export industry will be advantageous
  • Experience in clerical work within any industry is necessary
  • Flexible working attitude
  • Fluency in English language
  • Hardworking individual with good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Excel
