We are recruiting for Distribution Planners to work from our prestigious client's office in Hallen, Bristol on a temp-to-perm contract.
We are looking to submit people forward for interview as soon as possible.- To plan haulage utilizing the TMS (Transport Management System) to ensure that all material is transported in accordance with the requirements of the Material Sourcing, Materials Flow and Processing teams on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis and route in the most efficient and cost effective way using external hauliers.
- Ensure all data entered into the TMS is correct to enable accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- To work as part of the distribution planning team to ensure coverage during times of absence
- Ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service, striving to constantly exceed expectations.
- Make recommendations to internal and external customers on ways to improve haulage operations.
- Build positive working relationships/partnerships with customers, also gaining an indepth understanding of their service levels so as to improve where necessary.
- Manage any none compliance issues with vendors.
- To ensure that transport scheduling and all other administrative tasks associated with the role are completed and that all necessary documents are retained on file.
- To deal with any contractual issues as and when they arise with external hauliers, referring to Distribution Ops Manager if necessary.
- To ensure best efficiency and cheapest price and to liaise with other Distribution Planners to obtain best possible back load potential.
- To deal with telephone enquiries and handle internal and external communications efficiently, referring complaints or queries to the Distribution Operations Manager where appropriate.
- To contribute to the improvement of systems and working procedures within the Haulage Department in liaison with the Distribution Ops Manager to ensure on an ongoing basis that they are as efficient and effective as possible.
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience in transport/logistics
- Strong Communication Skills
- Financial Awareness
- CPC in Road Haulage (desirable)
- People Management Skills, supervisory experience advantageous
- Computer Literate (MS Office)
Shift times: 0800hrs to 1630hrs (37.5 per week), Monday to Friday. Weekend/Bank Holliday work will be required from time to time and an On-Call rate will be paid in these cases.
Pay Rate:
£15.50 per hour
