Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently have an exciting opportunity for 0.6 Lecturer for Fashion Business and Promotion team within The College of Jewellery Fashion and Textiles within the faculty of Arts Design and Media.

Situated in the Parkside Building in the new South Side area of Birmingham we are but a short walkway from the main transport links across the Midlands.

This unique exciting opportunity is for a highly motivated individual looking to advance their career.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Planning, preparation and delivery of lectures and workshops and tutorials, organisation of offsite activities trips and events.
  • Personal and pastoral tutoring of both staff and students
  • Contribute to wider College meetings and actions.
  • Recruitment at Open day and Applicant days, this may include Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Module leadership administration of registers, online course support, assessment, and moderation of work.

Skills and Experience:


  • You should hold an undergraduate or post graduate degree and relevant industry experience across fashion/design, business management and data analytics.
  • Teaching experience is essential at FE and/ or HE level.
  • Proven experience in HE and industry
  • Strong communication, presentation skills
  • Pastoral support and guidance of staff and students
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Application of EDI good practice to widen participation and engage all students.
  • Strong organisational skills in planning.
