Description

The Role:
To provide support to a 7-year-old girl with complex care needs, which include severe epilepsy. The family are looking for a self-employed support worker with complex care experience to provide support to their daughter. She is nonverbal but knows exactly what she wants. She enjoys playing with water, climbing, going to the park, and watching musicals.

The role is to provide a safe environment and to support with her care needs with assistance from her family.

Those with SEN experience are encouraged to apply, but this is not essential. You will need an enhanced DBS check, with the relevant insurance in place, and must be self-employed.

Main Duties

To always supervise, she does not have awareness of danger.
To support the family to provide their caring role.
To provide safety and support.
To proactively engage with her.
To recognise epilepsy triggers, and to ensure she has somewhere to rest afterwards.
To provide some personal care, such as changing her nappies.

Personal Qualities and Attributes required:

Respectful of confidentiality and privacy
Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
Respectful of dignity and independence
Good communication skills and social skills
Punctual, and flexible
Car owner with driving license and business insurance essential
You must be comfortable with dogs and cats.

*This role is a lone working position, and an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) is required for all staff undertaking the role*
Hours:16 hours per week to be worked flexible.

The following dates are required urgently: Monday 21st August, Friday 25th August, Monday 28th August, and Thursday 31st August.

Pay:
£17.44 per hour
