Description

The post holder will assist the stores and distribution pharmacy team with the daily issuing and supply of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments for the Princess Royal Hospital pharmacy stores and support the rollout of the Omnicell project.


The post holder will also support the dispensary with dispensing inpatient and outpatient medications and support the backfill of staff within the dispensary and stores to support staff training.


An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Princess Royal University Hospital to join the pharmacy team as an Assistant Technical Officer (ATO).


We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Stores & Distribution team, who will also have the opportunity to support the dispensary.


Previous pharmacy experience would be advantageous but full training will be provided, including enrolment on the NVQ level 2 if needed.

  • To ensure the safe, effective and economical use of drugs for all patients in the Trust.
  • To be able to follow departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • To be able to dispense inpatient, outpatient and discharge medication accurately.
  • To contribute to wider policies that has an impact within the pharmacy department and across the Trust.
  • To support the Dispensary Manager by contributing to the development of the Dispensary Services.
