Description
My client a leading global Bank is looking to hire an FP&A Manager.

The FP&A Manager role is part of the Bank 'Financial Planning and Analysis' team and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities within the Bank FP&A team, supporting theteam members' development, and managing senior stakeholders.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of all the Banking businesses.


The jobholder will be a key manager within the Finance Function and will need to demonstrate behaviour in line with the responsibilities, providing inspirational and motivational leadership to their direct reports and the wider employee base.


The role is responsible for delivery of month end tasks alongside strategic processes including budget, forecast, ICAAP and deep dive analysis.


The jobholder will be responsible for delivery of:

Monthly Business Performance FP&A; Reporting

  • Month end 'Flash' results detailing an initial view of the monthly Bank performance
  • Delivery of monthly reporting packs outlining key financial performance metrics
  • Provide timely commentary and variance analysis to support understanding of financial performance against budgets, forecasts and prior year
  • Managing communication of Bank performance to investor relations including gathering supporting evidence from each business area
  • Working closely with business FP&A teams to understand key performance drivers and market conditions
  • Own and deliver the front section of the CBL annual report

Financial Planning, Budgeting and ICAAP

  • Run the annual budget process including consolidation of results, challenging submissions and putting together summary presentations
  • Produce bimonthly forecasts and summarising key messages for senior stakeholders
  • Run the annual ICAAP process including interpretation and presentation of submissions

Analysis

  • Delivery of adhoc / deep dive analysis on key issues including summarising business submissions and understanding the drivers of emerging trends
  • Refine and improve existing processes and challenge outputs to create relevant and valueadding analysis
  • Gain an understanding of each of the businesses within the Bank and demonstrate a detailed understanding when presenting 'deepdive' analysis
  • Opportunity to get involved on projects and other business requests as and when required

People Management

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
  • Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the firm's policies, procedures, standards and SLAs
  • Hold regular onetoones with direct reports ensuring that feedback is provided in a constructive way whilst working with the employee to facilitate personal development
  • Ensure that an effective performance review is operated in line with department guidelines, including setting objectives, personal development planning and performance standards with all direct reports
  • Working to develop a culture of performance management, improvement and appraisal as a foundation for excellent organisational performance
  • Ensure that team members complete online training when required and are kept abreast of any internal communication

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel including (but not exclusively), Finance Directors, Heads of FP&A, Financial Controllers, Investor Relations, Group Finance and Risk function

Education & Qualifications
Essential

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Qualified Accountant with managerial experience
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
