After School & School Holiday Support Worker

***Our 14-year-old client with Cerebral Palsy like any teenager, loves going out, listening to music /audio books, and having her nails done She lives at home with her parents and younger sibling and is looking for a calm, serene carer to join her Care Team to support her after school during term time and in the school holidays.


The Role:


  • Our client's Cerebral Palsy affects all her limbs and she also has poor head/trunk control so is a fulltime wheelchair user and will require hoisting for all transfers.
  • Our client has a stoma and catheter along with a gastrostomy and is PEGfed so full personal care is required for this role.
  • Even though our client is nonverbal she is able to make simple choices for herself and can let her team and family know her needs by using facial expressions or sounds. Our client uses a system called TaSSeLs which is a tactile signing system for sensory learning.

About You:


  • Due to our client's complex care needs, you will have a minimum of one year's experience working in Care.
  • You will need to be a driver to reach our client's home as public transport links are poor.
  • You will be a reliable, patient person who has a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a young person with additional needs and able to motivate our client to undertake and complete activities.

Pay:

- £15 per hour on weekdays.
- £17 per hour weekends.
- £30 per hour bank holidays.


Shifts:

Term Time - 16 hours per week - Tuesday to Friday 15:30 - 19:30 (4 hours per day)


School Holidays - 12 to 16 hours per week, possibly over 2 days - exact days/hours to be agreed with the family and Support Worker.

Additional hours will be available but not compulsory
