Hours: 37 hours per week


Salary:
£41,712 - £43,363


Location:
Based across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin (with some home working)

Holidays: 26 days plus statutory holidays per annum to be calculated pro rata to hours worked

Fixed term contract until 31st March 2025 (with a view to permanency, dependent on funding)


Axis overview
Axis Counselling is a charity which has been supporting survivors of sexual abuse for 30 years. We support adults and children aged from 5 years and over, plus family members and loved ones.

We currently provide services via our four departments:
Counselling; Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service; Complex Care Pathfinder; and Training.


Post overview


We are looking for a Head of Operations to join the team, who will hold responsibility for operational delivery of services provided by Axis (as above but excluding the training dept.), as directed by the
CEO and board of trustees, to include oversight of budget management, delivery and maintenance of funded projects and contractual arrangements; monitoring and reporting; and management of the service managers; ensuring the provision of equitable, pro-active, safe and joined-up services to survivors of sexual abuse.


Key tasks

  • Line management of service managers
  • Operational overview of contract delivery (including managing service managers to ensure that their services are meeting all contractual obligations).
  • Responsibility for ensuring that reporting is completed in accordance with contractual arrangements (to include, KPI's, financial returns, statistical data, narrative reports etc this list is not exhaustive)
  • Work towards a cohesive pathway for clients, navigating Axis' services (bringing the services together as one pathway rather than separate standalone services)
  • Supporting service managers with the development of their services
  • Supporting bid writing
  • Supporting service managers to set up new projects when additional funding is secured, including project management where required.
  • Representing Axis at contract meetings
  • Oversight of recruitment
  • Oversight of client consultation
  • First line of escalation for complaints, grievances, disciplinaries etc
  • Operational overview of leases
  • Oversight of safeguarding and ensuring that Axis is meeting required standards (to include DBS requirements).
  • Preparation and presentation at Board meetings
  • Deputising for the
    CEO in their absence
  • Acting as organisational SIRO (Senior Information Risk Officer)
  • Ensuring that the IT systems used by the services are fit for purpose and are being utilised in the most efficient ways possible (to include databases; IT equipment and Services).
