In 2017, the UK Ministry of Defence commissioned a new fleet of nine P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA).

The P-8A MPA is based on a Boeing 737 modified with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including protecting the Trident nuclear submarines and reconnaissance work far beyond UK territorial waters.


BDUK is a key partner to the UK MoD, providing both direct Aircraft Maintenance services and Training services based within the Atlantic Building in Lossiemouth.

We look forward to the arrival of the E7 Wedgetail and expanding our capabilities to provide similar support for that aircraft fleet.


Boeing are now looking for an Operations Business Support Specialist to assist the Boeing Operations personnel based in the Atlantic Building within RAF Lossiemouth.


Reporting to the Senior Operations manager, the Operations Business Support Specialist will be crucial to the efficient running of the functions that deliver the Aircraft Maintenance service.

This proactive person will support the Operations Management team in ensuring the team have everything they need to deliver the Aircraft Maintenance service and provide back up to the Site Business Support Specialist in ensuring the smooth running of the Boeing site overall.


Responsibilities:


  • Supporting the Operations Management team with daily collection of data to ensure accurate reporting of KPIs
  • Satisfying the consumable material demands of the operation team by obtaining relevant financial approvals, liaising with procurement agents, placing demands and ensuring delivery
  • Ordering and maintaining general office supplies
  • Replenishing consumable provisions such as first aid kit content, tea, coffee, milk etc
  • Maintaining Uniform and PPE stocks to ensure new starter and ongoing replacement demands are satisfied
  • Assisting the Training Specialist by coordinating new starter induction training, booking classrooms and booking external training providers as required
  • Arranging Station and Atlantic building security passes for new starters
  • Arranging passes for visitors and contractors, and escorting if required
  • Tracking mandatory training, medical assessments and health surveillance requirements specific to the Maintenance team and making arrangements with approved suppliers to ensure compliance is maintained
  • Working in close partnership with the Site Business Support specialist to ensure the Aircraft maintenance Operations are aligned and coordinated across the site and we operate as one team.
  • Taking on other duties as instructed by the Operations Management team or the Site Business Support Specialist.
  • Building a strong professional relationship with key people in the wider customer community at RAF Lossiemouth

Work Authorisation:

Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.


Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required. All information will be checked and verified.

Experience and skills that would help with the role:

  • Microsoft Excel expertise would be an advantage
  • Customer service qualification
  • Experience working in a Boeing Defence facility
  • Experience working with Defense customers
Experience with facilities Management
