A newly formed consultancy seeking an Sustainability Consultant to join their new office, in Chelmsford.

The role will involve:
- Carryout project/teamspecific activities as defined from time to time by Directors.
- Conduct comprehensive sustainability assessments for clients, focusing on energy efficiency and thermal performance.
- Utilise thermal modelling software and techniques to analyse building envelopes, HVAC systems, and energy consumption patterns.
- Utilise industrystandard thermal modelling software (e.g., IES VE, EnergyPlus) to simulate and analyze building performance.
- Develop detailed energy models to evaluate the impact of design choices and identify opportunities for energy savings.
- Collaborate with clients to develop customized energy efficiency strategies based on thermal modelling results.
- Recommend improvements in insulation, glazing, HVAC systems, and renewable energy integration to optimize thermal performance
- Engage with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to communicate thermal modelling findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate energyefficient design principles throughout the building lifecycle.
- Monitor and track energy consumption, thermal performance, and project progress, preparing reports and providing recommendations.
- Work within a team environment and be able to instruct technicians and support staff in their work as it relates to the projects under the Engineer's control.
- Control own activities to meet deadlines.
- Illustrate concepts and prepare written reports
- Contribute to the development of the company so as to enhance its reputation.
- Identify new work opportunities with clients and other professionals' outputs.
- Study to meet CPD objectives.
Key Skills/requirements:
- Effective team member i.e. works well with others.
- Technically competent.
- Construction processaware.
- Good communicator.
- Ideally A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., environmental science, sustainability, engineering).
- Ideally Experience in delivering energy audits, management, and delivery of energy related projects.
- Experience using IES/TAS/DesignBuilder/Elmhurst
