The Team:

The Business Unit Corporate Controller's team is responsible for financial accounting across S&P Global related to Record to Report, Real Estate and centralized accounting support across the income statement.

The team values collaboration andthe ability to think critically while problem solving. The role reports to the Vice President, Business Unit Controller.

The Impact:
This role will provide accounting and associated support to S&P Global's operating unit FP&A teams.

The Director will provide insight and analysis for the month end close and inputs into the forecasting process as well as contribute to thecorporate accounting team's strategic positioning within the company.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead a global team of accounting professionals who support centralized and highly automated accounting workflows utilizing Oracle GL
  • Conduct research and synthesize large quantities of transaction data to be leveraged by large scale, automated accounting workflows
  • Key contributor to the monthend global financial close process with data input into the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Partner with the business unit finance teams by understanding various complex expense tracking and providing insights
  • Create and update models for centralized expense management in areas such as outside consulting and information services
  • Provide in depth data visualization for various expense line items and their impact on the bottom line
  • Manage a team that provides finance operational support across the Corporate Controller's function

What We're Looking For:


  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels across the company
  • Possesses strong critical thinking and problemsolving ability
  • Experience building financial models in Alteryx, Excel and data visualizations in tools like Tableau
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and see projects through to successful completion
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • 5+ years of experience related to financial analysis, public accounting or economic analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated interest in financial accounting and data analytics
  • Proficiency/knowledge in PowerPoint, QlikView, Anaplan, and Tableau or other database tools a plus
  • Experienced in dashboard design and focused, thoughtful visual display of quantitative information
  • Experienced in managing large and complex data sets through Alteryx workflows and/or other machine learning tools

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $107,100 to $210,300.

Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
