Description

SECURITY OFFICER

Hours/weeks:37 Hours / 52 Weeks

Salary:
£20,612

Whether in a teaching & learning role or in one of our specialised Business Support functions, you'll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others.

We're already a successful college, but we're continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story

In the role of Campus Security Officer, you'll be based at Waterfront campus in Huddersfield Town Centre, one of our several campus buildings, although you will work across all of our college buildings on a regular basis.

Your focus will be on making sure that the students, staff and visitors have a safe and welcoming environment in which to study, learn and work.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting and taking direction from the Security Team Leader in the provision of a day-to-day security support, servicing all college buildings on a daily basis.

Duties range from operation of CCTV control, internal and external patrols on all sites, meeting and greeting as students, staff and visitors arrive, monitoring of college car parks / access to the sites.

Ideally, you'll have demonstrable experience of working across a large, multi-site establishment.

It's important that you're able to work on your own initiative and be a reliable member of the wider Facilities team.

You must be able to communicate in an easy and effective manner with all members of the college community in accurate spoken English, and be able to follow instruction.

You will also be required to demonstrate and understand our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

Due to the nature of our work, it's essential you're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We believe learning is not just for our students: it's an important part of working here too.

Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers.

You'll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.

We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
