We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, wanting to develop their pharmacy skills.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the Medicines Management and Dispensary Teams as a Trainee Senior Pharmacy Assistant.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months, based on the Scarborough site, for 37.50 hours per week.


The post will be awarded a band 2 salary for the first 12 months then progress to a band 3 once all necessary training has been completed.


  • Be educated in GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C or above, or the equivalent qualifications.
  • Be prepared to undertake a NVQ Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services.
  • Be able to maintain dispensary competence.
  • Rotate between the dispensary and ward based team on a monthly basis or when needed to ensure the needs of the service are met.
  • Be prepared to deal with queries both face to face and over the phone
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organised and have a keen attention to detail
  • You must also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and be able to adapt to changing demands in order to be committed to providing a high quality service.
  • Previous pharmacy experience would be preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided.
