Housing Standards Officer (2 posts)

22 Months Fixed Term Contract

£34,723 - £37,261

We are looking for someone with a drive for improving housing standards across the Borough, providing advice and guidance, undertaking property inspections and enforcement activity to reduce hazards in the private rented sector as well as privately owned homes.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in assessing property conditions and enforcement work.

You must have a good understanding of the Housing Health and Rating System and a sound knowledge of using housing legislation across all areas of housing standards.

We particularly welcome applicants who have experience with Houses in Multiple Occupation.

We will offer you the opportunity to work generically across all private sector housing disciplines in a professional team of like minded officers.

You will be customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills as well as experienced in dealing with the public face to face and over the telephone.

Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our employees, residents, and customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.

We offer flexibility, generous annual leave and support to develop your role further with training and mentoring. If this sounds like the exciting opportunity you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
