The Unit plays a key role in delivering growth in existing markets and establishing the University in new markets, including apprenticeships.


The role


The
Head of Bids and Contracts will drive forward critical business functions within the Business Development Unit (BDU), providing strategic leadership for bids and tender activity alongside the development and management of commercial contracts.


Building on a successful track record of working with the public sector, business is increasingly acquired through competitive bid and tender activity as part of a procurement process.

This provides a key channel to market across the solutions portfolio and contributes significant revenue the University.


The role holder will also direct the development and management of commercial contracts across the portfolio including both UK and International business lines.

This includes assessment of commercial feasibility of opportunities, due diligence, contract negotiation, and the management of contract variations, amendments and terminations.


Skills and experience

  • A resilient leader with the ability to create and manage a highperforming team to deliver outstanding results. Who thinks strategically and proactively identify and resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Able to evidence extensive experience of complex stakeholder engagement, building relationships, influencing and negotiating at all levels, in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates following qualities: creative and resourceful selfstarter with business vision and acumen supported by excellent planning and prioritising capabilities, and the ability to cope with multiple demands effectively in a fastpaced and changing environment.
