This is a very exciting opportunity to help make a real difference to increasing access to Adult Mental Health (AMH) Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapy services in North Wales.

You will be joining a friendly, welcoming, and growing NHS secondary care AMH Clinical Psychology Department, with excellent clinical and research links with the School of Psychology and the DClinPsych Department at the University of Wales, Bangor.

The countryside of North Wales offers an excellent quality of life, and the post will be within the county team of Wrexham.


The BCUHB AMH Clinical Psychology Department are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Clinical Psychologist, to be based and work in Wrexham CMHT.

This is a permanent position, and the post holder will work as part of integrated secondary mental health services for adults who have complex and severe mental health needs.

The post holder will be expected to integrate well and co-work with their CMHT colleagues, providing specialist psychological knowledge and expertise to the team.

As well as providing direct clinical input to clients, this will also involve working through others by training, supervision, and formulation work.

It will also involve attendance at clinical MDT meetings, referral meetings (SPOA), and CMHT business meetings, and clinical leadership.

To be an active and integrated member of the multidisciplinary community mental health team (CMHT).


Provide leadership on psychological knowledge and approaches for the CMHT, in collaboration with the Head of Adult Mental Health Clinical Psychology.

To carry a specialist clinical psychology caseload of adult mental health clients referred to the CMHT.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
