The Role_

  • Zerohours contract, flexible hours. It is expected that the monthly control checklist will take up to 20 hours per month.


This role reports directly to the CFOO on the voracity of monthly data being processed by the Finance Teams and carries out ad hoc projects.


  • Duties_


Within a few days of each month end, a check is performed to monitor that Balance Sheet totals for all entities (Schools, DCNL and DCSL) have been reconciled to monthly schedules which should have been completed by various members of the accounting team.


The results of this check are recorded on a monthly control sheet and the internal auditor together with the Finance Controller meet with the Chief Finance and Operations Officer to discuss the results and any subsequent action which may be necessary.


Balance sheet codes are routinely checked for rogue entries or entries that should have been moved on to other codes.

From time to time there will be additional special projects.

Support the Finance Managers with end of year Audit process.

Dean Close School is a co-educational day and boarding school which provides continuity of education from age 2 to 18.

The School was established in 1886, and is set in 50 acres of parkland in the centre of Cheltenham.

In 2015 the Dean Close Foundation was formed, when the School acquired St John's on-the-Hill Preparatory School and three nurseries in the Chepstow area.

In 2017 the Foundation purchased a further two nurseries, Tree Tops in Cheltenham and Gloucester, taking its total to five.

Dean Close is renowned for focusing on individual development.
