About the role:


The Museum has developed a Building Information Management Strategy, which includes implementation of new processes supporting the management and exchange of building information, Information Requirements, and a Common Data Environment (CDE).


Key areas of responsibility:


  • Support the Building Information Manager in developing, managing and integrating 3D BIM models of the Museum's estate.
  • Support in ensuring the Museum has models and drawings that accurately represent the asbuilt conditions and assets of the British Museum's estate.
  • Ensure internal and external parties have access to up to date model, drawings and documentation, in line with information security processes and agreed procedures.
  • Support in ensuring that 2D CAD files and other legacy drawings are well organised and accessible to Museum Estates and Capital Projects team, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required. Develop plans for critical information to be identified and integrated into BIM environment (models and/or CDE).
  • Support implementation of BIM, inclusive of supporting the establishment of a CDE and the management of models and drawings within it.

About you:


  • Support the Building Information Manager with the implementation, requirements, and governance of BIM and help develop new business as usual processes.
  • Support in ensuring the Museum has asset information models, survey models and drawings that accurately represent the asbuilt conditions and assets of the British Museum's estate
  • Work with Building Information Manager, and Space and Building Data Officer to maintain and access uptodate Museum CAD drawings, inclusive of managing any required updates or changes to reflect alterations. Support colleagues in using this resource.
  • Manage the master set of Exchange Information Requirements. Establish the defined EIR tiers to support implementation of decision model.
