**Role Description
**Act as a Subject Matter Expert
Setting architectural standards, creating reusable patterns, help to shape principles.
Be able to design new systems, integrate and update current systems, decommission existing systems
Be able to build working relationships with different parts of the business and manage stakeholders
Act as a consultant and advisor when working with business areas, to lead work streams and take systems through accreditation processes
Use cross-business thinking to define strategy and direction
Take complex requirements and turning into designs (ADD, HLD, LLD)
Ensure that security and regulatory compliance is part of all design work
Plan and prioritise work, handing over work to the delivery team
Work out BoEs and BoMs for the solutions you design
Have excellent organizational and communication skills
Required Skills10 years' experience in your domain
Be able to translate a design into a set of delivery activities
Ability to hand activities off to engineering teams for implementation, whilst providing architectural oversight and governance
Able to undergo UK security vetting
Be able to travel within the UK working at secure sites
Ability to work under security and accreditation restraints
Experience of legacy architecture
Self-organising and self-managing, self-starting
Familiar with Agile methodology and tooling
Detailed knowledge of change management and governance
Ability to produce formal technical documentation

Secondary knowledge, depending on area - e.g. Azure knowledge for Cloud architect, networking knowledge for Server and Infrastructure architect.

Ability to use your expertise to deploy novel and unusual systems
Mentor and coach junior staff
Knowledge of military systems and networks
Knowledge of JSPs
Knowledge of architectural frameworks and tool
Have SC/DV clearance
