Working within the UK Fundraising team, the Philanthropy team focuses on raising funds from trusts, foundations, statutory funders and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI).
Working closely with our Philanthropy manager, this new role will be key in the creation and management of the tools needed to engage and inspire our philanthropic supporters and prospects.
This will include the development of engagement events such as small dinners, webinars and receptions as well as liaising with policy colleagues to create compelling proposals and updates.
Main tasks:
Identify opportunities to inspire new and existing philanthropic supporters and strategic partners with the work of WDC through a variety of different channels.
Work closely with our world-leading policy experts, across the organisation, to write compelling bespoke cases for support, project updates and impact reports to help increase our philanthropic funding.
Act as the main link between our fundraising and policy teams to update key projects and plans.
With support from the Philanthropy manager create a series of regular event opportunities for our high-net-worth supporters and corporate strategic partners.
Support the Philanthropy manager and Head of Strategic Partnerships in working with partner organisations on joint event opportunities to help grow our network of influential individuals and business networks, both UK and at international conventions.
Manage a small portfolio of donors, initially collaborating with colleagues working on mid-level giving to increase support and build a platform for further development.
Keep abreast of key WDC science and campaigning activity and new areas of work.- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required to fulfil the role.

Outline Terms and Condition of Employment
Location
The role will be home-based with ideally two days attendance at our Chippenham office required per week. However, we can offer flexibility. Some national and international travel may be required, including to our Scottish Dolphin Centre in Spey Bay.
Salary
The salary for this role will be in the range of £25,757 - £28,300. All employees are paid monthly in arrears on the last day of the month.
Pension
WDC UK employees will be automatically enrolled into our Royal London pension scheme.
Holidays
Holiday entitlement is 28 working days per yearplus bank holidays for full time staff (pro-rata for part time), three days of which must be taken for the Christmas closure.
Working Hours
The standard working week is 35 hours, Monday toFriday. WDC operates a flexitime scheme.
