Continuing the recent investment in the Faculty of Health and Life Science, we are seeking to appoint a qualified and highly motivated, skilled, and committed individual to effectively manage, promote, and implement health and safety within the Institute Systems, Molecular & Integrative Biology.


The newly formed Institute of Systems, Molecular & Integrative Biology serves a wide range of research groups and teaching across several sites.


Within the Institute includes the following:

  • School of Life Sciences
  • Department of Biochemistry and Systems Biology
  • Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine
  • Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics


You will ensure compliance with all current and future health and safety legislation, you will develop and embed a positive safety culture to ensure the safeguarding of staff, students, visitors, and contractors.

You will assist the Institute in achieving the Health and Safety Management Profile (HASMAP) High Level of assurance. You will also carry out the safety inspections and act as the institute human materials officer.


With previous experience in biological safety management within laboratories, you will have a well-developed understanding of health and safety and other relevant regulations and procedures.

You will have a degree, or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience.

You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well in a team. You will be expected to travel to the institute off-campus sites.
