Salary:
£25,000 to £26,000 per annum dependent on experience in a similar role


Responsible to:
Finance Director


Responsible for:
Assisting each member of the account team with maintaining Sales and Purchase Ledger.


Department/Location:
Accounts/Tonbridge Head Office.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and experienced Finance Assistant.

As a finance assistant you will be responsible for processing both sales and purchase invoices, building strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Maintaining and ensuring both ledgers are kept up to date to increase efficiency within the finance department.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Process Supplier invoices promptly.
  • Building a good relationship with Suppliers.
  • Ensure all Supplier records are in line with agreed credit limits and payment terms.
  • Preparation of supplier payment run on a weekly basis.
  • Resolve customer disputes in a timely fashion.
  • Provide adhoc reporting as and when requested by management.
  • Undertake account reconciliations as required.
  • Maintain sales & purchase ledger ensuring everything is up to date.
  • Issue credit notes and process receipts.
  • Recording and allocating payments for sales ledger.
  • Provide support to other departments as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:


  • GCSE or equivalent (required)
  • Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and customers.
  • Confidence to make decisions and work well under pressure.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to build a rapport with customers and diffuse situations.
  • Computer literature, i.e., MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Office 36
  • Experience in the use of Sage 50 and/or Sage 200 (preferred but not required)
  • AAT Level 2 (preferred but not required)
  • Good time management and organisational skills.

Salary:
£25,000 to £26,000 per annum dependent on experience in a similar role
