Business Admin Apprentice:
To provide administrative, operational and organisational support to the admin and data team leader.


Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit multi-academy trusts in England. Our aim as a charity, alongside our schools, is to help provide local children with a great education. We educate over 30,000 pupils across five OAT regions in over 40 schools - currently 32 secondary schools, six primary schools, four alternative provision schools and one special school. We are one of the longest established trusts and have been sponsoring academies since 2009. Ormiston North East Wolverhampton Academy (NEWA) has seen incredible progress in recent years. Working week:
(37 hours a week, 39 weeks a year months to complete the apprenticeship.


Wage:
£5.28 per hour (National Apprenticeship wage).


Apprenticeship Details:
Business Administration Level 3 standard. (The qualification is delivered online, through LMP Education, alongside the full time job).


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the admin and data team lead with student data collections, monitoring their completion and liaising with class teachers.
  • Manipulate and process data of different types in Microsoft Excel, and be comfortable downloading/uploading this from/to SIMS.
  • Provide extensive breakdowns of student attainment and progress data across all year groups.
  • Extract, manipulate and present various forms of data from SIMS in bespoke formats to meet the needs of the academy
  • Preparing statistics and analysis for use in governors' meetings, progress board meetings and meetings with external agencies ensuring accuracy as directed
  • Set up and migrate necessary data each academic year
  • Assist in the preparation of a range of documents including student reports to a high standard of presentation, sometimes to tight deadlines, using a range of IT software including Microsoft Office.
  • Provide data support to the senior leadership team, supporting with ad hoc requests for data that is required to meet the needs of the academy.
  • Liaise with departments when the need arises and maintain good working relationships with them.
  • Prepare and mail letters to parents/carers.
  • Provide administrative support for the academy behaviour and rewards system.
  • Undertake reception duties when required
  • Provide cover for administrative duties in the event of absence which may include making attendance calls to parents.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post as determined by the Line Manager.
  • Support the examination officer with the exams process when required.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to system security, confidentiality and data protection.
  • To undertake data collection for 3 yearly census returns to the Department for Education.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Use of all Microsoft packages, specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Excellent numeracy skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a range of staff

Qualifications:


  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade Grade C/4) essential
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C/4) essential
