Trainee Confectioner/Confectioner

Duties:

Baking and pastry production:

Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, muffins, pastries and confectionery items following our recipes and quality standards.

Recipe Development:

Collaborate to develop new cake and pastry recipes, incorporating innovative and trending flavours.

Decoration and Presentation:

Use your artistic skills to decorate cakes and pastries, ensuring they are visually appealing and meet customer expectations.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality checks to maintain the highest standards of taste, texture and appearance in our products

Ingredient Management:

Manage inventory and ensure availability of fresh and high quality ingredients.

Sanitation and Hygiene:

Adhere to food safety and sanitisation regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain and clean baking equipment to ensure they function properly.

Record keeping:

Maintain accurate records of recipes, ingredient quantities and production schedules.

Team collaboration:

Work closely with other team members, such as bakers and shop staff to ensure seamless production.

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a bakery or food service environment is preferred but not required
Knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients is a plus but not essential as full training will be given
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects.
