Accounts Assistant, (Part Time) Felixstowe

25hrs/per week Monday-Friday, Permanent - Hybrid (2 days home/3 office based)

TLP are delighted to be supporting our client, a market leading IT company providing software technology solutions across a large, established client base in their search for an experienced part time Accounts Assistant to join their thriving and busy team.


The main function of this varied role is to support the Finance Manager in the maintaining of the Sales/Purchase Ledgers and Credit Control.

In addition you will be required to carry out general financial administration, analysis, support and advice as requestedby the Finance Manager and General Manager.

Role outline and responsibilities

  • To assist in the maintenance of the Sales Ledger. Process payments received, copy invoice requests, maintain customer details, balance sales ledger.
  • To ensure correct credit control procedures by the issuing of prompt reminder notifications and overdue accounts being regularly pursued for settlement.
  • To assist in the maintenance of the Purchase Ledger, by preparing and posting invoices, reclaiming VAT when appropriate, reconciling supplier statements, maintaining supplier details, and scanning in all relevant documentation.

To assist in ensuring the following are completed on a monthly basis:


  • New Direct Debit Mandates
  • Direct Debit Run
  • VAT Return
  • Cashbook & bank account reconciliation.
  • Prepayment & accruals.
  • Management accounts.
  • Monitoring of timesheets
  • Recording of usage information.
  • Petty cash reconciliation.

To assist in ensuring the following are completed on an annual basis
:


  • P11D preparation
  • Maintenance of Share register.
  • Preparation for payments of Dividends.
  • Budget and audit preparation.
Experience

  • Ideally, you will have more than two years practical experience working in a financial accounting environment in a commercial enterprise.
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of a broad range of the tasks as described above backed up with practical examples.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Excel (including formulas) and MS Word.
  • Management Accounts experience highly advantageous

Qualifications:

AAT part-qualified (ideally Level 3 as a minimum) with relevant working experience
