Description

Purpose of the Job:


  • Preparation of corporate management information to support the informed decision making and strategic direction of the Council's senior management teams.
  • Responsible for coordinating local authority mandatory data submissions/statutory returns to the DFE, LGA, Office for National Statistics and other government departments.
  • To supervise team members as applicable.

Design, create and develop multi-functional models and produce high-level analysis to enable the Council, Directorate, partners and wider to continuously make improvements to the quality of service.


  • Build professional relationships at operational and strategic levels within the Council, Directorate and wider to ensure that meaningful data is shared and used appropriately to benchmark and contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery andoutcomes at local, national and regional levels.

Specific Accountabilities:


  • To manage and coordinate the production of reports, datasets and other products using a wide range of data collected by the Council to faciliate decision making and influence best practice and procedures within the Council, Directorates and wider.
  • To work with divisional managers to interpret business needs (e.g. process improvements)and then to design, develop and implement recommended processes to meet those needs
  • Responsible for the extraction, analysis, synthesis and interpretation of very varied and complex data derived from a wide range of sources.
  • To ensure appropriate records are maintained to support a consistent approach to reporting and avoid duplication of effort.
  • To present workforce data in a variety of formats both written and verbal as required.
  • To access and analyse up to date comparable work force data from various sources to enable effective bench marking.
  • To contribute to a variety of meetings and presenting data as required.
  • To ensure that client data is stored and shared securely and appropriately in accordance with Dudley MBC Policy, Information Governance legislation and protocols.
  • To work with People and Inclusion colleagues in supporting the updating of HR and Organisational Development systems

Key Accountability's:


  • To participate in an Annual Review meeting and undertake a plan of training where necessary. Develop his/her own skills and expertise in a professional manner.
  • In addition to all the responsibilities listed above, all employees must be flexible in their approach and undertake other duties that are commensurate with post holder's level, wherever they may be, to achieve the objectives of the Directorate.
  • To represent the Council and Directorate in a professional manner meeting the Corporate and Directorate aims. To comply with Directorate and Corporate policies.
  • To comply with the council's financial regulation and standing orders.
