Site Supervisor

Salary:
£32,445.00 per annum, plus Veolia benefits and pension


Hours:
Monday to Friday 45 hours per week


Location:
Veolia Canterbury Transfer Station, Unit 3, Canterbury Ind. Park, Island Road, Hersden, Kent, CT3 4HQ

What you'll be doing;

  • Operate the necessary plant equipment involved in the handling, sorting and transferring of waste.
  • Ensure the site areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensure site compliance at all times.
  • Arrange waste movements.
  • Operation of weighbridge activities.
  • Marshall vehicle movement around the site at busy times.
  • Assist the Contract manager in day to day running of site operations.
  • Manage a small team of yellow plant operatives.

What we're looking for;

  • COTC Qualification.
  • IOSH Certificate.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety with ability to complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Previous Transfer Station experience.
  • Yellow Plant Licences to include Cherry Picker, 360 Shovel and FLT including Bale Clamps.
  • Good communication, I.T. skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of company policies and procedures
  • Understanding of legislation applicable to the Transfer Station.

Desirable:

  • Capability to carry out investigations.
  • Experience in the supervision of operatives.
  • Train the Trainer.
  • Reversing assistant experience.
