About This Job

  • This is an exciting In-House opportunity for a Indirect Tax professional to join a leading Pharmaceutical company at Senior Manager level.
  • Working collaboratively with a team of outstanding professionals in a secure and controlled environment to ensure that Astellas' Indirect Tax reporting and compliance obligations across EMEA are met.
  • Working with the latest SAP technology platform; S4HANA
  • Contributing towards process standardisation and Tax Technology advancements
  • Taking the opportunities presented to work on projects such as system automation
  • Working as part of a global team with global exposure and opportunities to develop
  • Having the freedom to work and make decisions independently
  • Hybrid working

Essential Knowledge & Experience:


  • EU Indirect Tax compliance and advisory
  • Complex GL reconciliation of companies with multiple VAT registrations
  • Excellent ERP relevant experiences and knowledge (preferably S4/Hana, One Source, Global Trade Services, Concur, Ariba)
  • Detailed understanding of tax controls environment and how this can be implemented and embedded within large complex organisations.
  • Experience of driving improvements in processes and reporting including automation
  • Strong understanding of industry and regulatory requirements (codes, standards, regulatory and legal) for Pharma sector

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:


  • EMEA based experience
  • Educations/Qualifications
  • University degree;
  • Indirect Tax relevant certificates, master's degrees, or qualification
  • Ideally tax qualified however can be flexible, dependant on experience
