WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY


You will be working alongside the existing IT team but will be expected to bring additional knowledge and experience to aid the growth and expansion of the company.

This position is based in Lisburn but may require occasional visits to our other sites and offices.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of high availability systems (physical and cloud).
  • Maintaining and monitoring systems.
  • Define, implement and maintain an enterprisewide Linux fleet management system.
  • Software installation and patching.
  • Provides technical leadership, support and resolves problems of a comprehensive and complex nature.
  • Provides indepth individual and/or group instructions and training to staff on new or updated technologies.
  • Maintain, update and audit data systems; document projects, write and maintain user instructions.
  • Perform advanced systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems, troubleshoot and resolves complex system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
  • Participate in research and development initiatives and aid in the implementation of new technologies.
  • Securing systems, networks and individual computers based on requirements and ISO27001 standards.
  • Participation in the oncall rotation schedule if required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Linux administrator at an enterprise level.
  • Experience of or a strong working knowledge of Linux based distributions (primarily Ubuntu, CentOS and Redhat).
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure delivery and software deployment cycles.
  • Experience of or a strong working knowledge of Linux fleet management systems such as Ubuntu Landscape or similar.
  • Ability to provide basic support on Windows 10 based systems, O365 and basic networking.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to end users.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of professionals.
  • Ability to manage complex IT related workload across multiple sites.
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users.
  • Excellent telephone / teleconferencing manner.

DESIRABLE

  • At least 5 years' experience in the administration of enterprisewide Linux platforms.
  • RedHat Certification.
  • Experience in cloud technology such as AWS or Azure strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge of Hyper V, VM's, Hypervisors.
  • Knowledge of ISO27001 standards and practices.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
