DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION


4Studio is the engine room for C4's digital acceleration strategy, with the primary mission to create, adapt and distribute content across the key social media channels.

The primary activities of 4Studio will be to curate (existing) and create (new) short-form content and distribute it through actively managed social media channels.

The Operations & Process Improvement Specialist will work very closely with key people and departments involved in these processes within C4 and on occasion with external stakeholders.


  • The Operations team are the master plate spinners and process developers in 4Studio. Made up of Operations, Project & Process Managers, they're the central team that ensure our ways of working are agile and efficient for each of the 4Studio workstreams. The Operations team are the key contacts for keeping projects & processes flowing smoothly and efficiently through the studio.
  • The role will be based in C4's National HQ in Leeds and will be a key component of C4's regional strategy, providing creative job opportunities outside of London and expanding the diversity of the company's creative contribution.
    ROLE PURPOSE


You will be joining the Operations team within 4Studio, bringing a laser-focus to process improvement and operations delivery across 4Studio and our interactions with wider Channel 4 teams.- You will be responsible for reviewing, analysing, and improving 4Studio's core business processes and systems, making sure that we have the process infrastructure needed to achieve our ambitions and targets.


  • You will work in a creative environment that will put you at the heart of Social and Digital content production processes within Channel 4. An exceptional communicator and influencer, you'll be able to develop effective working relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders and deliver genuinely impactful change into Channel
  • You'll have previous experience of delivering business change and process improvements across a broad range of activities or business areas. You'll be able to provide expertise and facilitation to ensure that improvement activities are well managed and are based on recognised standards, utilising appropriate aspects of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the delivery and implementation of improvement & process focussed projects and solutions within 4Studio, ensuring our processes are robust and deliver excellence for every user
  • Lead & conduct process workshops and fact finding, engaging with business stakeholders to fully understand current processes, identifying opportunities and issues for improvement
  • Capture & define business requirements to build strong and effective processes that deliver against the needs of our colleagues, stakeholders and customers
  • Design future state and improved business processes using recognised best practices (e.g. Lean methodology)
  • Produce data driven analysis of process performance to support the management and improvement of asis processes, as well as inform any tobe process design
  • Build excellent relationships, working closely with process owners and colleagues across 4Studio to understand and continually improve processes
  • Work closely with Operations resources in key 4Studio or adjacent teams (such as 4Studio Branded Entertainment/Sales and Digital Commissioning) to ensure engagement and delivery or tasks and/or process responsibilities, removing process obstacles and solving issues at pace
  • Create and deliver strong and effective reporting for stakeholders keeping the organisation, particularly the management and leadership teams within 4Studio, up to date on the progress of improvement projects
  • Responsible for understanding and documenting endtoend process maps, KPI's, risks, controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and business rules, ensuring our processes are well defined and understood
  • Support change management in 4Studio through the creation of project plans, change impact assessments and training needs analysis
  • Ensure documentation (such as process maps or project plans) is well communicated across 4Studio teams, so they are fully informed on expectations and milestones.
  • Support the production of compelling Business Cases for approval at Senior Stakeholder level
  • Support the delivery of Business as Usual (BAU) Operations across 4Studio, ensuring tasks and activities are executed and delivered in order to meet our departmental targets and ambitions
