CNC Operator - _Temporary to Permanent Opportunity_


Hours of work:
(NIGHT SHIFT)

Monday to Thursday, 9:30pm - 6:15am


Pay rate:
£14.52 per hour (inclusive of 33% shift allowance)

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operative/Engineering Operative for our client who are a specialist manufacturer of parts to the automotive and aerospace industries.


Duties & Responsibilities will include:


  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Maintaining a clean & organised working environment
  • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, eroding, etc.
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
  • Prepare and load raw casting, forgings & materials, and parts onto the machines.
  • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to produce parts of complex geometry.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly (using manual gauging).
  • Operate CMM Machines to verify integrity of parts produced previous on CNC Machines

Essential skills/experience:


  • Knowledge & use of CMM Machines & interpretating Inspection / CMM Results & Reports
  • Knowledge, use & control of Calibrated Inspection Gauges & Fixtures
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Processes & Procedures, and associated company policies
  • Ability to Read Engineering / Technical Drawings
  • Understanding of Dimensions & tolerances
  • Experience of machining Nickel Based Alloys
  • Good Problem Solving Skills
  • Pride in quality of work produced.
  • Aspiration to develop & learn new skills.
  • Understanding of Lean, 5S & TPM

A night shift is also available Monday to Thursday 9.30pm to 6.15am, paying £14.52 per hour, inclusive of 33% shift allowance.
