Job Title:
CNC Operator - _Temporary to Permanent Opportunity_

Hours of work:
(NIGHT SHIFT)

Monday to Thursday, 9:30pm - 6:15am

Pay rate:
£14.52 per hour (inclusive of 33% shift allowance)

Location:
Colne

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operative/Engineering Operative for our client who are a specialist manufacturer of parts to the automotive and aerospace industries.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
Maintaining a clean & organised working environment
Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, eroding, etc.
Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings etc.
Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
Prepare and load raw casting, forgings & materials, and parts onto the machines.
Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
Set machines to complete full cycles to produce parts of complex geometry.
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly (using manual gauging).
Operate CMM Machines to verify integrity of parts produced previous on CNC Machines

Essential skills/experience:

Knowledge & use of CMM Machines & interpretating Inspection / CMM Results & Reports
Knowledge, use & control of Calibrated Inspection Gauges & Fixtures
Knowledge of Aerospace Processes & Procedures, and associated company policies
Ability to Read Engineering / Technical Drawings
Understanding of Dimensions & tolerances
Experience of machining Nickel Based Alloys
Good Problem Solving Skills
Pride in quality of work produced.
Aspiration to develop & learn new skills.
Understanding of Lean, 5S & TPM

A night shift is also available Monday to Thursday 9.30pm to 6.15am, paying £14.52 per hour, inclusive of 33% shift allowance.
