The Department of Computer Science at Brunel University London is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Computer Science who can contribute to teaching and research within our successful and supportive department.

The Department of Computer Science holds an Athena Swan Bronze award and is keen to further increase the proportion of women in the department.

Research in Computer Science at Brunel is internationally recognised.

Our research is ranked 7th by discipline in the UK by performance ranking of scientific papers (NTU, 2023) with 40% of outputs rated world leading in REF2021.

Our department has particular strengths within the following research areas:


  • Computing Methodologies (Intelligent data analysis, AI, simulation and modelling)
  • Human Centred Computing (HCI and interactive multimedia systems)
  • Software Engineering


The successful appointee will have the potential to contribute high quality research that enhances at least one of above departmental research areas, through journal publication, research income generation and engagement with stakeholders.


The department strongly supports interdisciplinarity and a number of university-wide research centres provide exciting opportunities to work collaboratively on key societal challenges.

Computer Science staff also benefit from co-location with the university's Artificial Intelligence Living Lab which provides world class facilities bringing together computer scientists, health scientists, social scientists and engineers.
