Introduction
Plantexpand are an established, rapidly growing vehicle and plant maintenance company, serving national companies to efficiently maintain their asset fleets through a network of mobile plant engineers.
Managing a select team mobile technicians:
Responsibilities will include:
- Organisation and control of engineer workloads.
- This will include general service works as well as area specific breakdowns.
- Organising workload schedule and diarising to include organising site access & arrangement of work permits.
- Managing technician holiday cover by authorising each of your teams holiday days via our HR system.
- Processing of completed job sheets, identifying and procurement of parts, creating accurate supplier purchase orders, managing order deliveries/returns.
- Generating work authority requests, quotes and invoice preparation documents.
- Updating & maintaining accuracy of Thames Water work permit TWOSA system.
- Managing any IT/ Communications device requirements via the admin team.
- Daily communication with mobile technician team and driving down all relevant KPI's as detailed below.
Managing the company asset management system:
Responsibility will include:
- Asset details are regularly checked & updated in regards to asset detail, record history, bookings and works in progress, service configuration and aligning service sites/dates.
- Ensuring work reports are processed efficiently.
- Ensuring any updates or amendments to service lists is communicated to the relevant technicians.
- Ensuring all technicians hours and purchases are recorded and up to date on the relevant jobs.
Managing subcontractors for work outside of company scope:
Responsibilities will include:
- Arranging the appropriate subcontractor to attend the job.
- Organising any site access for the subcontractors.
- Supplying all information such as contact numbers, equipment detail & site addresses.
- Arranging swift cost processing and obtaining quotes for repairs where required.

Responsibilities will include:
- Obtaining all relevant customer information to process new work enquiries from new and existing customers.
- Managing the enquiry and scheduling into existing workload.
- Communication back to the customer with information regarding visits where required.
Job sheet specific processes:
Responsibility will include:
- Ensuring all technicians hours and purchases are recorded and up to date on the relevant jobs.
- Checking all job sheets submitted by engineers are correct in respect of asset worked on, location, hours worked, tasks completed, parts used and parts required.
- Ensuring all data is transferred onto the asset management system, all costs associated with labour and parts are submitted onto the summary report.
- Completing purchase order process including the correct marking of the purchase orders after the repairs, managing incorrect/faulty/not required parts for return and credit.
- Receiving deliveries and updating all systems to reflect.
- Upon invoicing, passing through purchase order paperwork to the accounts department.
- Keeping all work in progress records together and filed into technician work folders.
Health & Safety (H&S) and Wellbeing
Responsibilities will include:
- Obey company H&S processes as per your employee handbook.
- Complete all required training courses relevant to your position.
- Manage training applicable to mobile technician team and ensuring that training expiry dates do not lapse.
- Manage technician team to ensure all PPE requirements are met, maintained and issued correctly through the admin team.
- Where possible, keep tabs on technician H&S whilst out on site.
Appearance and Attitude
Responsibilities will include:
- During business hours, the company expects you to act and behave in the appropriate manner with all company policies to be adhered to.
- The company also expects you to dress smartly in the provided uniform (if applicable).
Driving at work:
Responsibility will include:
- Occasionally you will be required to drive in company vehicles.
- All company vehicles must be treated with respect and any defects being immediately reports to your line manager.
- All relevant road laws are to be obeyed and adopted when driving.
- Occasionally, it may be requested that you assist with customer collection and deliveries.
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract
Salary:
£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
