Healthcare Support Worker on Macmillan Renton Unit.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a dedicated team providing cancer care at Hereford County Hospital.

As a Healthcare Support Worker in the Macmillan Renton Cancer Unit you will assist clinical teams to provide care and support patients through their cancer journeys.

To support the activities of the Macmillan Renton Unit (MRU) in the provision of cancer care, e.g. outpatient breast clinic.


To work under the direct/indirect supervision of and in support of the Consultant, registered nurse and or the registered Allied Health Professional carrying out delegated nursing and non-nursing duties to promote patient centred care.


To ensure that all duties required to assist the clinician performing the clinic are completed in a timely manner to ensure the best patients experience possible.

To be mindful at all times of the impact on patients of own actions.

Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.

Worcestershire is our neighbouring county. The post holder will be required to travel between sites.
