Payroll Officer (Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover)**
Appleby Westward Group Limited
Monday to Friday

9.00am - 5.00pm

35 hours per week

Our SPAR convenience stores are more than just a local shop and as a member of our payroll team, you will have a really important role to play in the smooth running of the business.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join the team as a
Payroll Officer at our head office in Saltash, on a contract of 35 hours per week.

You will provide administrative support to the Payroll team, ensuring that all matters are dealt with quickly and efficiently in line with department and company procedures.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the processing of all data relating to all company payrolls and bureaus.
Prompt return of correctly authorised statutory forms e.g. SSP1, AMP1, confirmation of earning etc.
Be the point of contact for all internal and external enquiries, logging these appropriately. Deal with in a professional and courteous manner and escalate to payroll manager where necessary.
Maintenance of HR & Payroll information systems, ensuring the accurate recording of personal, employment and payroll data including individual sickness absence records.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by your line manager and advise on matters affecting the Company's interests at all times.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly proficient in Excel
Good time management and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Have a proactive, cando attitude.
Experience or working in a payroll environment is desirable but not essential.
