Salary:
£40,000 per annum plus Car Allowance of £6,000.

Direct Reports:

None - but may be required to collaborate with staff / managers within the various Franchise Network(s) and DLO Units as it pertains to recruitment activity.

Franchisees / Managing Directors / Internal Line Managers (Support Centre)

Third Party Organisations (Recruitment Charities / Agencies).


Job Purpose

  • To develop the function as a profit centre / inhouse "agency" to minimise professional fees and external recruitment costs and provide an overall streamlining of the recruitment service provided from the Centre.
  • To work closely with the Group Head of HR to promote our portfolio of brands as employers of choice, promoting retention and reducing excessive employee turnover.

Key Activities and Deliverables

  • To act as the primary recruitment service provider predominantly B2B franchise network(s) across all four brands, DLO Units, and the Support Centre, providing an exclusive "one stop shop" for all recruitment activities.
  • Once offers are made and accepted, ensuring completion of a comprehensive handoff to the relevant line manager (and if appropriate central HR), once verbal offers have been made and accepted.
  • To provide recruitment support for recruiting line managers within the Support Centre for BAU recruitment (both new roles and backfill for leavers).
  • Referring any direct employment offers (i.e., nonfranchise recruitment) to the Group Head of HR / Generalist HR Team to ensure that offers, contracts and onboarding activities take place in a streamlined and coordinated manner.
  • To maximise the benefit of external job boards, charities, third sector organisations, and social media platforms.
  • To develop a focus on recruiting latent forms of talent within the labour market (exmilitary, exoffenders, underrepresented groups with protected characteristics).
  • To partner with local, regional and national organisations, channels and social media to promote our employee value proposition.
  • Working closely with the respective Senior Team(s) and franchisees to strategise / professionalise the workforce across the board and industry sector(s).
  • To ensure there is an effective mechanism to track recruitment activity back to the relevant franchisees to allow streamlined cross charging / recharging ideally using a centralised ATS.
  • Where all other routes have been exhausted, to liaise and commission specialist recruitment agencies / executive search organisations in pursuit of any specialist requirements.
  • To have delegated responsibility for the Franchise Brands Recruitment and Retention Policy and any related strategies, overseen by the Group Head of HR.

Detailed Activities

  • In collaboration with Group Head of HR, and the Group B2B Marketing Team, producing the highest quality recruitment advertising copy, job descriptions, and promotional material which meets brand guidelines and promotes our respective brands as progressive employers of choice.
  • To maximise the return on investment of our Employer Branding subscriptions to Glassdoor and Indeed avoiding duplication from franchise networks and ensuring that the centralised recruitment function is on brand and the most visible on all channels including social media.
  • To provide shortlisting and interview support to recruiting managers, attending interviews, and providing a framework for selection (e.g., interview questions, selection tests, psychometric testing / scoring matrices etc).
  • To develop local and national support networks, attending recruitment events, fairs, conferences and other external promotional activity.
  • To manage and maintain a ledger of all recruitment activities / placements by franchisee in order to provide regular reports to the Senior Management Team and allowing cross charging to take place in a timely manner.
  • To run recruitment and selection training where necessary for new line managers.
  • To ensure that the Recruitment Function operates at a sustained profit.
  • To keep a running / real time record of live vacancies and ensure reporting functionality is available at all times.
  • Good overall standard of education;
  • Member of REC / Member of CIPD (preferred);
  • Commercially focused with an understanding of how to leverage all available resources in online, national recruitment;
  • Exposure to recruitment in a wide variety of sectors, disciplines, professions and job level right up to MD Level;
  • Ability to make significant personal impact and deal with large volume of activity whilst focused on delivery;
  • Understanding of challenges for recruitment in a national, franchised organisation as well as direct labour organisations;
