Content & Social Media Marketing Lead | Up to £35,000 | London (hybrid) | Permanent, full-time

  • We're looking for someone who knows the education sector inside and out. Perhaps you've worked in schools, perhaps you've written brilliant content that serves the sector? You'll own our top of the funnel 'buzz activity' connecting with school leaders on social media and telling The Key's story in imaginative, impactful ways._

We're looking for a content marketing and social media pro who's already immersed in the education sector to lead our brand and buzz top of funnel activity.

It's your job to tell the story of The Key in an imaginative and engaging way so our stories create a ripple effect that helps us reach new audiences and position The Key as the market-leading support service for all schools and trusts.


You will:

Shape our content marketing plans:Support the Acquisition Marketing team lead in developing our plan for top of funnel outreach and positioning. You'll be responsible for crafting plans and creating content to support our customer acquisition activities.

Craft and curate brilliant content marketing pieces that position The Key as market leader:Collaborate with senior colleagues and colleagues from the content team to ideate, create and deliver impactful, high-quality content - from sector reports, blog posts and webinars to podcasts and how-to videos. You know what good looks like and how to go about creating content in different formats and mediums.

Own our social media strategy: Increase our share of voice and reach new audiences on social media. Find story angles, create content and share it in a way that makes our audience engage with it, share it and recommend us. You'll identify and leverage sector influencers in order to increase the impact of our social media activity.

Keep our brand and brand tone of voice (ToV) front and center: Ensure all social media, content marketing, events and partnerships activity is aligned with our brand messages and ToV.

Evaluate, provide insights and evolve: Leveraging your deep sector understanding, you keep your finger on the pulse and advise us on which social media channels we need to invest in and for which purpose. You evaluate your activity regularly and share insights with the wider marketing team and the business, increasing the effectiveness of our overall audience strategy.

Oversee the effective running of our Facebook communities:Ensure our team of internal colleagues are equipped to monitor and manage the groups effectively so they continue to be a source of support for thousands of school leaders.


The ideal person

You will have at least 3 years' experience in content marketing, communications or education writing. You've developed a brand's social media and content marketing approach (30K+ followers) either in-house or for agency clients.

You're already immersed in education. Successful content marketing and social media requires you to understand our audience and the sector at a deeper level, which is why we're looking for someone who's been (or was) working in education for a number of years.

You're a proactive, creative self-starter. You don't need a blueprint because you are capable of shaping your own approach. You'll immerse yourself in the business and the sector in a way that enables you to spot opportunities for creating well-performing content for our marketing channels.

You're commercially savvy. You know how to leverage content marketing techniques to deliver value to our audiences. And you know what engages them to get to the next stage in the marketing funnel.
