Role Description:

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the overall Finance function.

You will take responsibility for the production of management accounts, including adding value to and finding efficiencies in these processes.

You'll have a focus on compliance to ensure any risks to the business are understood.

This is a highly varied role where the Head of Finance will also have the opportunity to provide the business with commercial insight by reporting on and interpreting KPIs and operational objectives.

You will business partner with the directors, challenging business decisions and helping support overall growth and success of the company.

We are looking for an independent thinker who can hit the ground running.

Someone who is motivated, driven and willing to get involved with an open mind and willingness to adopt new methods and changes as required.

With Extons continuing to grow year on year, we anticipate the role to evolve along with the company.


Key Responsibilities:

• Management of a small accounts team (currently 4, with scope for growth)
• Process management and introducing best practices
• Cash flow management and forecasting
• Analysis of figures and identifying trends

Evaluate and be in involved in the decision process for investments

• Responsible for Year-End sign off and completion with the assistance of the team
• Liaison with banks
• Ensure all accounting activities and audits comply with financial regulations
• Monthly production of management accounts
• Identifying areas for cost reducing solutions
• At least two years' experience in a similar role.
• Fully qualified ACCA // CIMA
• Good level of IT skills. Proven experience of Excel spreadsheets. Sage experience preferred.
• Leadership abilities and previous management experience.
• Indepth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills. Excellent interpersonal skills as you will be working with other departments within Extons as well as external suppliers.
• Excellent organisational, planning prioritisation and time management skills
• Ability to work in a team and have a flexible approach to work to meet the requirements of both the finance team and the Extons company
• Flexible approach to hours to ensure deadlines met and finance department adequately staffed.
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
