Responsibilities:


The Nursery Assistant is to work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the commercial approach to the business requirements are maintained.

We are looking for someone who can combine their passion for plants and enthusiasm to learn. This role is based within our nursery department at our state of the art head office facility.

This role would suit a keen enthusiast who is looking to develop their career with the horticulture industry, with the option for an apprenticeship or additional training.


  • You will have passion for plants, and some understanding of how to maintain plants in a commercial environment
  • Reporting to the Nursery Manager
  • You will be expected to carry out all aspects of plant care; watering, weeding & splitting of perennial plants
  • Potting, picking, and sorting of plants/trees for distribution to sites
  • Working with all aspects of plant growth such as propagation, plant care, and composting etc
  • Checking plant health and protection from diseases, weeds, and pests
  • General maintenance around the nursery including clearing and tidying
  • When needed, you will assist in other areas of the business and expected to support with landscaping duties
if required.


Experience and Skills Required:

  • Previous experience within a similar horticulture setting (not essential)
  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic and flexible approach
  • Willingness to learn and update on plant knowledge and practices. (Additional training will be provided)
