Can you tell me more about the role?
We are looking for an experienced Head of People to join the team, reporting to our Chief People Officer.

You'll have responsibility for a wide range of duties, including the following:


  • Day to day management of all operational HR tasks
  • Management of the operational recruitment function, managing multiple vacancies simultaneously and determining recruitment strategies to fill these whilst driving down our average cost per hire and time to hire
  • Providing support to our people managers, including ER support and proactively managing any performance or conduct concerns
  • Point of escalation for the People Manager and People Administrator
  • HR project ownership and delivery, including managing the integration of new employee populations acquired via M&A activity
  • Deputising for the CPO, as required

What skills and experience do I need to have?


You will have a minimum of five years' experience in an HR management, business partner, or Head of People role, working within a fast-moving, high growth organisation.

You will be an experienced recruiter with a track record of directly filling vacancies at volume, without the need for external recruiter support other than in the case of specialist positions.


You will have excellent levels of knowledge when it comes to employment law, and will be confident advising line managers in respect of ER issues arise.

You will have experience dealing with complex disciplinary and grievance issues, including managing these to appeal level.

You'll be an outstanding communicator, confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels within a business.

Advocacy for our culture will be of primary importance to you, and you'll be able to demonstrate the contribution you've made to actively driving a positive culture within your previous roles.

Your attention to detail will be first class, and maintained even when working at pace. You'll be confident and have experience in using a variety of HR technology, and the administration of this. You'll also demonstrate high levels of commercial acumen and a good operational understanding of the businesses you've worked within.


Critically for this role, you will understand how vital it is to ensure confidentiality at all times and will be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when communicating within the business.

Where will I be working?


We're incredibly flexible about where, when and how you work: we don't want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they're looking for.

Ideally, you'd be able to be based out of our Solent office for two or three days each week, working the remainder of the week from home.
