This role is an excellent opportunity to shape and influence the EPRR agenda within the Trust at an operational, tactical, and strategic level.


The Head EPRR role will lead shaping the Trust's EPRR policies and associated work programme (such as business continuity programme) to ensure compliance with EPRR arrangements are addressed in line with statutory regulations and best practice.


In addition, this role will be expected to work closely with multi-agency partners (this includes Police, Ambulance and Fire Service) across the Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) ICS and wider Local Resilience Forum (LRF) to ensure a collaborative approach is adopted to shared risks.

They will also need to work closely with the EPRR team at the ICB.

The Head of EPRR is responsible for ensuring the Trust achieves and maintains compliance with its responsibilities set out in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, Health and Social Care Act 2012 and any associated regulations and guidance relating to emergency preparedness, resilience, and response (EPRR), including NHS England's core standards for EPRR


They will have responsibility and accountability for ensuring effective and efficient responses are made in the event of a major incident.


Having the ability to communicate key messages that may be contentious, confidential and complex whilst informing and sensitively advising the DCOO, COO and Executive Directors.


Co-ordinating the routine operational activity working collaboratively with the divisions, (clinical and non-clinical) to ensure strategic pieces of work are delivered effectively and efficiently to support SFT to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).


The Head of EPRR is responsible for forward planning, multi directorate coordination, and strategic delivery of key pieces of strategic work that supports the SFT System strategic ambition.


They will report into the Deputy Chief Operating Officer but be accountable to the Chief Operating Officer as the AEO.
