Systems Development Manager - World Leading Tech Company

Location | Workplace Policy:
Stoke 2 Days A Week

Package:
Lucrative salary available upon request + + £5k Car + Up to 30% Bonus (Personal Performance) + 7.5% Pension + 25 Days Holiday + Remote Working + Gym Membership


You will take responsibility for leading a full stack team of Software Developers, Team Leaders and Technical Leads where the primary technologies they utilise are TypeScript, Go (Golang), Swift and Kotlin.

You will retain a good technical understandingof systems whilst remaining close to the solutions being developed. People, processes, delivery and the governance around these will be a major focus of your role.


Some of the current projects are listed below:

  • Full re write of sports site
  • Full re write of User Platform site


Once these projects are done, there is an endless list of new feature projects that have been waiting to be kick started.

With every project you work on going to release, you will find yourself being a key part of the company's future

Preferred Skills And Experience:


  • Technical management background regarding websites capable of high availability and low latency operation.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills when managing highly effective teams.
  • Reflective and inquisitive leader.
  • Ability to motivate yourself as well as others.
  • Drive to succeed and ability to lead technical solutions, people, delivery and strategy.
  • Ability to manage multiple streams of activity while shifting focus regularly.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Understanding of the work load and work items distributed amongst the team as well as the larger works spanning the department.
  • Ensuring the efforts and requirements of both resource and time are understood while assessing impacts, risks and costs in delivering the work within the team, building and maintaining capacity to deliver the business needs.
  • Committing to the deliverables of the team and the department for larger works.
  • Understanding of the technical structure, the domain and architecture of the systems that the team are responsible for and how those systems are configured in the development and production estate.
  • Working with stakeholders from Product Managers, Project Managers and other technical staff to ensure appropriate, fit for purpose and simple solutions are defined, planned and produced within the team.
