Hours: 8am until 4pm (Monday to Friday). Early finish on a Friday is available on a rota system.


Salary:
Up to £25,000 with excellent benefits

Polytec are looking for a Stores Technician for our Cambridge based client. Ideally you will have an understanding of shipping / logistics practices. A full UK driving licence is required. Excellent benefits package on offer including Private Healthcare, IncomeProtection and Life Assurance.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure reliability of the Stores business information system
  • Adhere to established stock control processes and procedures, keeping the information system up to date and reliable
  • Analyse stock reports, check validity, investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Selecting components and kits for production and spare parts orders
  • Assist in the shipment of goods out
  • Timely and accurate data recording of parts returned from Customers
  • Assist with FLT / company van driving as required

Requirements:


  • Substantial experience in a computerised stores role preferably in a mechanical engineering manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Substantial experience using ERP / MRP systems
  • Good analytical skills and clear, concise communication skills
  • Counterbalance Forklift licence would be an advantage
  • Dangerous Goods by Air training would be helpful, or willingness to learn
