Are you our newest recruit? We are Howkins & Harrison. We've been supporting homeowners, landowners, and landlords since 1888. We offer total property, land and estate services to residential, rural & commercial clients.

We have 7 high street offices, located in Rugby, Northampton, Lutterworth, Daventry, Atherstone, Ashby de la Zouch and Towcester.

We also have an office in Henley In Arden and a London office, both allowing us to work closely with commuters and investors.


Our experienced team of estate agents, lettings agents, surveyors, planners, valuers and auctioneers will help clients to achieve their property, land and business ambitions.


We are looking for a Secretary & Property Administrator to join and support our busy Rural & Property Development team, ensuring an excellent service is provided to clients and other team members.

Based out of our head office in Rugby (this role is not suitable for home working) with the hours of 9 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

The role is diverse and will require experience in:

  • Diary management
  • Call answering
  • Written communications
The role will include a wide variety of activities and no two days will be the sale


However, responsibilities will include:

  • Entering new properties and applicants using a CRM system (Alto) full training provided
  • Updating and checking listings on property portal websites such as Rightmove
  • Maintaining the filing system including creating new files and maintain filing database electronically
  • Producing and uploading valuations onto internet portals
  • Collecting and maintaining records of valuations undertaken across the company for submission to various lenders and for use in PI Insurance figures
  • Management of team diaries and coordinating meetings
  • Maintaining and updating contact details
  • Answer telephone calls
  • Any other reasonable request made by line manager

Essential qualifications include:

  • RSA or equivalent in typewriting or word processing
  • Audio typing

Ideal experience and skills include:

  • Ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Accuracy and an attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (including Access)
  • Able to prioritise workloads
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Able to show initiative and work on their own as well as in a team
  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • Sense of humour
