Shift pattern: 6on 2 off
We have an excellent opportunity for an energised and experienced Deputy Night Manager to join our team in our Ashford depot.
Our team play an important role in supporting our business to deliver world-class service and time-critical parcels to our customerslocated throughout the United Kingdom.
You will play an integral part in the efficient day to day operations of our Distribution Centre, you will work closely with our experienced Operations Manager who will support you to manage a challenging daily workload where no two days provide the samechallenge.
You will have oversight of a small team of Warehouse Operatives for whom you'll be responsible for coaching, training and motivating.
We will look for you to develop a culture of success through positive team engagement, great communications and hands-onleadership resulting in your team continually delivering challenging Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
It will be important that you are organised as you will frequently need to juggle several tasks to meet deadlines and use your problem-solving and judgement skills to deliver challenging customer requirements.
Finally, you will provide ongoing support to the Operations Manager to champion a variety of continuous improvement initiatives ranging from operational compliance to standard operating procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage and motivate the team to meet customer timescales and improved productivity
- Maintain quality standards
- Ensure team productivity targets are achieved
- Provide 'hand over report' to oncoming Shift Manager
- Ensure inductions are carried out for all new staff
- Provide training to all staff and contractors to ensure they are able to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently and safely
- Ensure all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety training
- Management of the end to end warehouse functions and processes
- Keep the warehouse safe, clean and tidy
WHAT YOU NEED
- Previous Supervisory or managerial experience is preferred
- A good approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
- A commonsense approach to problemsolving
- Computer literate
- Comfortable working to strict deadlines
- Great communication skills
