The Audit Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) has been mandated by our client, an award-winning financial services business, to assist in their search for an Operational Risk Manager.


Reporting into the CRO, and working closely with compliance and internal audit (our client will also consider internal audit / internal controls backgrounds).

This is an integral role where you are responsible for building out the risk framework and embeddinga strong risk culture into the business.


You will also be responsible for operational incidents and breaches, looking at root cause analysis as well as risk reporting.

You will also be responsible for embedding risk culture into the business, adopting an approachable and problem-solving approachto stakeholders, as well as being involved in strategic projects.


This is a rewarding opportunity for an Operational Risk professional looking to make a difference within a business, who can prioritize legacy and date issues whist understanding the need for change.


The position will offer wide exposure to C-Suite executives and the Trustee Board who are very active within the business.

Therefore stakeholder influencing is essential to this position.


Background Requirements:


  • Experience will be considered across internal controls, risk management and internal audit within a UK regulatory environment.
  • Significant Experience working within an operational risk role within the financial services industry, including exposure to working in pensions.
  • Critical thinking, with a challenging mindset
  • Confidence to challenge all levels of the business
  • Tenacity to drive improvement and risk reduction across the business
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to generate clear and innovative risk material to inform and engage stakeholders
Desirable

  • Experience working with an Operational risk/GRC system
  • Proven ability to work within a business to enhance risk management capability
  • Risk qualifications such as ERM or IRM are beneficial but not essential
